Amazing Preamp

I use this mainly to record electric bass. With this, I get great natural sound of the bass to my DAW. I think the controls are perfect to get good base tone to shape it with plug-ins. Acoustic guitar and vocals were great too. Good upgrade from the preamps of an interface. Very sturdy construction. Also looks very cool. No cons in my mind.

Tone modifying beast!

I have had this unit now for approximately a month and I am still being astounded how useful the TB12 is on all kinds of instruments and vocals!

The different op-amps and transformers in this box do add beautiful color onto your sound sources. I have tracked guitar with this and I favor the vintage setting for acoustic guitar and the modern for tracking electric guitar.

The pad function is really helpful if you want to really drive the preamp for maximum coloration.

I am very satisfied with this purchase and I plan to buy one more as soon as possible. Simply put, very hard to find anything to nag on for what you get for your money here.

Solid but wished for slightly more beastly options

Its very solidly made, feels quality all over.
I'm not yet using it with mics, I'm using it as HW insert in DAW.
Its really nice for gently taming some nasty high end, and for getting peaks under control. The different options are all very subtle to my ears apart from the tone +6db button which is obvious.
It does have a good range of distortion / saturation but I did expect a little more given the 'beast' in the model name. Anyway it gets plenty of use and I'm glad I have it.

Best bang for the buck

Picked this up as I was looking for an external pre amp to track an album last minute.

It has an API style circuit and thats what I am used to, so seemed like a good fit.

It sounds fantastic, loads of great onbaord options, and some suoer useful features. Don't think there is anything out that can compete with this in the same price range.
