Todella hauska, korttipakan kokoinen laite päivittäiseen audiotutkimusretkeilyyn. Poimii ympäristöstä todella villejä ja yllättäviä soundeja. Tarjoaa hyvää materiaalia kokeellisemman musiikin tekoon tai ihan vaan kuulokkeet korvilla seikkailuun. Kuoret hieman heppoisen oloiset, ruuveja kiristäessä paristonvaihdon yhteydessä kannattaa käyttää maltillista voimaa.

Fun little gadget for experimental music production, as well as insight into the invisible realm of electromagnetic emissions (tip: put this close to any electrical devices and listen to the results). Batteries last forever. Volume and sensitivity knobs could be a bit bigger for easier handling, but they work just fine. A built-in SD card recorder would make this a 6/5.

Interesting experimental device

When I heard about Soma Ether, it reminded me of transhumanists implanting magnets in their bodies - a device to grant a brand new sense for a human being. And I was not wrong.

Ether allows me to get a taste of the world that is hidden in plain sight - all the sounds are actually there, we just can't hear them normally. I can hear a clock on the other side of the wall, I can hear when a tram accelerates, I can hear wires in my walls. All the lamps, all the electric devices become things I can feel.

I feel a little bit deaf when I'm without Ether.

Compared to other Wide-Band Receivers i believe its the best price, the battery lasts for years from what it seems.
Also i want to say that "It can take a hit" i mean its sturdy enough to fall without breaking.
Coming back to the sounds it can make, they are very nice even raw straight to the headphones also something to be careful about is using somewhat good cables because some can bring interference.
Come close to phones, routers, lambs even touch the front pins on sheet metal, metal polls outside, trashcans whatever.
Also buy some cable and strip the ends and touch it lick it, anything that comes to mind.
I tried passing one pin through resistor,pots, and also try playing with it on modular stuff.
Ultra nice even for walks ! Forget about Spotify and your phone take your headphones and take a walk, i even slept once with it.
