I've used a variety of the puresound custom wires (different diameters and wire counts) and they're all nice and bright without being too loud or obnoxious.

I find they can make a previously dull snare seem a bit more sensitive, and they last a long time too. This effect is pronounced enough that I replaced a stock 42-strand on another snare with a puresound 12-strand and it didn't seem to lose much brightness or sensitivity! Using the custom wires there doesn't seem any reason to have more than about 20, which is why I went for 16 this time. Less bass buzz is a good thing in my book!

I would prefer fabric straps to string, but I guess either will work for most throwoffs and I'm just being picky.

Ich spiele seit mehr als 30 Jahren und hab inzwischen auf allen meinen Snares Puresound Teppiche. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr solide, aber am besten gefällt mir, dass man sich für jeden Soundwunsch den passenden Teppich aussuchen kann. Da ich schmälere Teppiche bevorzuge, kommt mir das große Angebot sehr entgegen. Die einzige Serie mit der ich nicht so zufrieden war, sind die "Concertwires", die mir vom Sound her etwas zu "grob" sind. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt, mit Puresound kann man nichts falsch machen.

Hallo allerseits,

ich Spiele den Teppich auf einer 70er Jahre 14x6,5 Stahl Snare von Pearl mit S-Hoops. Felle Aquarian Texture Coated und Aquarian Hi Performance Resonant, recht hoch gestimmt, minimal am Schlagfell bedämpft.

Zuvor hatte ich den Puresound Blaster verbaut. Ich wollte einen schmäleren Teppich um etwas weniger Teppichsound zu haben.
Jedoch muss ich diesen Teppich stärker spannen als den Blaster, sonst raschelt er hörbar nach. Dadurch geht die Sensivität etwas flöten und die Snare klingt etwas abgewürgt.
Es haben wohl nicht alle Wires die gleiche Spannung / nicht sauber gelötet
Der recordete Sound der Snare ist aber gut.

Trotzdem hätte ich ehrlich gesagt etwas mehr erwartet, bei dem Preis.
