Solid hardware, but frustrating Bluetooth connectivity

I bought this footswitch together with the Positive Grid Spark Go mini-amp. The Control X itself is excellently built, the switches feel solid, and it's very convenient for controlling effects when it works.

However, the major drawback is the unstable Bluetooth connection. The pedal doesn't connect directly to the amp; it relies entirely on the smartphone app. The most frustrating part is that if you minimize the app on your phone (for instance, to take a call), the Bluetooth connection drops entirely. You then have to reconnect the device all over again, which really interrupts the practice session.

To be fair, I've only tested it with the Spark Go, so I don't know if it behaves the same way with other amps. If the developers fix this software dependency or at least improve the connection stability, this would be a flawless device.

The build quality is top-notch — solid metal chassis, responsive footswitches, and a sleek, road-ready design. It feels like pro gear. Setup is quick and easy via Bluetooth, and the Spark app integration is smooth and intuitive.
With six fully programmable switches, the Control X lets you switch presets, toggle effects, start/stop backing tracks, and even control Smart Jam features — all without taking your hands off the guitar. The expression pedal inputs are a killer addition for wah or volume control, making this a truly gig-worthy rig.
Latency is virtually nonexistent, and the responsiveness is excellent. Whether you're practicing, recording, or playing live, it keeps up flawlessly.

Bought the spark Control X along with a positive grid spark 2 amp. The footswitch seems very sturdy and well built. Wireless so no more annoying cables spread across the floor. Found it easy to connect to the positive grid spark 2, and no latency when selecting effects. So light and easy to move yet solid when on the floor and does not slide when you press a switch with your foot. I have my footswitch set on Profile 2 at the moment and have not had to change it, but you can easily select any of 8 different footswitch profiles and you can customize it to suit your needs. Also has 2 inputs on the back for expression pedals, but i have not used these yet.
All in all i am very happy with it and it does everything that i need. Great.
