Küng 2822 Superio Subbass Recorder

Received this recently and could not be more impressed. The build quality and attention to detail is about the best I’ve seen and this recorder just screams quality. The keys are magnificently designed, the sound is wonderful and the low and high notes are powerful, resonant, beautiful, loud (loudest in the middle register), and quite easy to achieve. This instrument does require a huge amount of air, no joke, particularly with the middle register notes, and requires practice to achieve the depth of sound and brilliance this recorder is capable of. I used to think my great basses needed lots of air, but this takes air volume requirements to another level. But with practice, the results are so rewarding. Also, I purchased and strongly recommend the dedicated stand which holds this huge recorder safely; it includes a pin at the top of the stand for use while actually playing and seems to work brilliantly when coupled with the extremely adjustable bocal mouthpiece allowing for nearly perfect posture and ergonomics. Tried this sitting down, and while this does work, playing while standing seems much preferred, primarily because of the breathing and need for large volumes of air. I am thrilled give this instrument my highest recommendation!
