Good spare strings at a low cost

I usually change all of my strings when the high-E string breaks (I rarely break any other strings). When I started practicing bending and vibrato more intensively on a regular basis, the frequency of this happening increased: now, the first string breaks approximately after 40-50 hours of playing. Since the other strings are often in flawless condition at this point, it felt a little wasteful to replace all of them at once.

Luckily, bumped into the Harley Benton ValueStrings Singles product line. Six 0.010 replacement strings at the price of 1.55 euros is a bargain. I immediately ordered 15 packs of them.

Here are my observations:

Pros:
- The unwound ValueStrings are surprisingly long-lasting: the strings seem to remain clean and shiny (black rust does not appear) for a long time. There is no need to regularly apply string cleaning/lubrication products on the ValueStrings - wiping with a wet cloth suffices. Applying lubricants on the ValueStrings makes them even a little bit too "slippery".
- Sound and quality are on par with the "name brands".
- Price-to-performance ratio is at an excellent level.

Cons:
- The string feels like it is slightly heavier than its nominal gauge of 0.010" (when compared to similar strings from the name brands). I have not measured the thickness of the string. It may also be that the metal is of different composition. I have to apply a little bit more force when bending.

I can warmly recommend this product to all guitarists using 10-46 string sets. The drawback related to the heavier feel does not apply if you don't do much bending (e.g., if you are a strict rhythm guitarist).
