Unbelievable - bought as an upgrade platform but it is excellent as is
+ sounds so juicy and twangy that will not install Fender pickups I bought for this
+ The Price!
+ flawless finish cosmetically and functionally
+ quality feels a few classes higher than the price would indicate
+ good set up when delivered, no fret buzz
o a bit heavier that my other telecasters
- one string may be slightly high on the nut, not confirmed, yet, though
- slight intonation adjustments to be made
I have read and watched a lot of reviews and feedback on Harley Benton quitars and ordered this 111 euro telecaster and another acoustic guitar to see for myself.
Together with this guitar I ordered a set of Fender Yosemite pickups and I have already an upgrade set of switches and pots. The intention was to upgrade the Harley Benton electronics.
But wow! The guitar sounds so good with the factory pickups that I see no reason to change the pickups. I have three Squier Affinities for comparison - I upgraded the pickups on them as the factory sound was too tinny. Whereas this Harley Benton has the familiar juicy country twang with the stock factory pickups.
The guitar is heavy for a telecaster just like other reviewers have noted.
Cosmetically the guitar is flawless.
Intonation was not perfect but that is an easy adjustment. One string may be a bit too high on the nut as it plays slightly sharp on the first fret; this is also easy to fix if that really turns out to be so. No fret buzz so the neck adjustment was correct at the moment of delivery.
I am a beginner with less than a year of practising to play guitar and bass guitar, for my own pleasure. With an engineering background tinkering with the instruments is also a part of this hobby for me.
This Harley Benton clearly exceeded my expectations in quality of finish and the tone it makes. I might put this guitar a little above my Fender Player Made in Mexico (600 eur) in subjective feel of quality, and definitely above Squier Affinities (200 eur) and not surprisingly below my Fender American Professional (1600 eur).
I am new to guitars and playing so you can and should take this review with a grain of salt. But as an owner of more than 20 guitars and basses from Fender, Squier, G&L, Schecter, Lakeland and having done some basic luthier work I guess I have some grounds to make assessments.
Now to decide which Harley Benton to try out next.

Huikea telecaster
Ostin tämän kitaran kylkiäisiksi samalla kun tilasin Harley Benton -straton. Harley Bentonista mulla on kokemusta vain n. 10v vanhasta bassosta, jonka viimeistely oli kaikin puolin jäänyt puoliväliin.
Telecaster maksoi n. 110e, joten kynnys ostoon oli alhainen. Varauduin kaikenlaiseen viilailuun, jotta kitarasta saisi ilolla soitettavan.
Peukut pystyy!

Unbelievable
I honestly cannot believe you can get a ash body guitar of any description in this price! Got this guitar to practice my fret leveling but ended up being a great project! The guitar had a beautiful two piece heavy ash body with a very hard finish that resonated extremely well. Tuners work great and overall well put together. Electronics as you can imagine are very basic cheap but the actualy sound ok! The guitar arrived set up and intonated ! The finish had couple of minor flaws but nothing you would notice unless you are looking carefully under good light. Overall I was so happy that I invested in this and will definitely get another Benton soon! I always feel that if i have something to do with the guitar i like it more so this was perfect and didn?t require alot to play and fell like a guitar ten times the price
