A bit thin and bends easily
I was a little surprised of the thinness of this plate. Approximately only 1.5 mm. The neckplate is probably supposed to be used with black plastic/rubber underplate as is the case with 70's Fender guitars and basses. I guess that is the reason for thinness. Otherwise the neckplate assembly would become a bit bulky. But true to '70s vintage the neckplates probably were this thin.
It naturally works without it, but I found out it bent easily as I tightened the screws (which by the way were of very high quality).
I doubt the thinness does anything noticeable to sustain or overall sound of the instrument. The plate acts as a simple washer would and is only there to give support to the screws.
If you are looking for a sturdier neckplate I would recommend the Corona Neckplate.
