Robust quality pedal
More so than many other types of music equipment, a volume pedal should be able to withstand a relatively high amount of applied force from changing angles; you don't want something that will break down in a week, and I'd imagine the folks making Ernie Ball products know this. A very sturdy piece of gear, this was my first volume pedal and it has been a great tool in creating guitar/bass swells. Note that while this is the JR version it is still quite sizeable, and smaller volume pedals do certainly exist (for considerations of very compact pedalboard setups etc.).
