Excellent bang for buck

I didn’t like the Remos the drum was shipped with so the batter side was quickly replaced with an Evans Strata 1000, and boy oh boy does the drum sing now.

You’ll get an exceptionally crisp concert snare for a mere fraction of the cost compared to Pearl or Black Swamp.

With the triple snare system it’s easy to switch the dryness of the snares. Still not done toying around with it, but so far I’d definitely recommend this drum.

The drum offers you so many sound variations because of the triple strainer, which you have to tune individually for your personal taste. It is well built and powerful for big halls orchestral playing. I strongly recommend buying a Remo Rennaissance Diplomat with it to replace the original batter head.

This is a very good value snare drum. I understand that the heads are budget and low-quality in order to protect the price point. Change the batter head immediately. Otherwise, the only problem I encountered was the result of no lube on any threaded surface. The knurled tension screws were particularly tight; however, after lube and a bit of wearing in, they seem to be fine.

The overall quality is very good. This is a great buy for the price.
