Yamaha C3 Grand Piano Miking

These mics really capture the C3 Grand Piano. You need to play about with placement to get the sound you are after as with any mics. If recording the piano in isolation I'm not sure I could expect anymore!
When recording the piano with the playing singing at the same time there is a compromise to be had due to spill from vocal mic and piano mics, but this isn't the fault of the microphones, just the problems with recording such a dynamic instrument. I haven't tried them on my Yamaha U3 upright as yet but I think they will do a great job on that also. The mic leads are delicate, but they need to be inside the piano lid. Can highly recommend.
