Digitech The Drop

Unlike many other reviewers, I found the change in tone and the latency to be a problem - even in the first few settings. While going down a half step is still tolerable, beyond that the latency is just too much and the lower strings start sounding flabby and undefined. The problems are even more noticeable when using the pedal with a bass. Clean guitar chords also have undesirable and very audible digital artifacts, which are not as apparent when using distortion. However, the tone starts losing its edge and becomes undefined and loose with distortion.

Tried it out at home and at band rehersal, with headphones and with loud volume. If you use isolated headphones and/or play loud, the clean signal of the guitar is not a problem, but for me, the latency was too much. The pedal seems decent enough for practicing songs in a different tuning (playing along at home with headphones), but I would not use it for recording or performing live.

The build quality seems decent enough, however the graphics are not to my taste and the pedal draws quite a lot of current. Might keep this for practising songs ? or 1 step down from what I normally use, but nothing else.
