D-Grip Picks Jazz A: Accurate pick with good grip

As a long-time Jazz III + Dunlop Flow user, I was looking for options with grip texture. The D-Grip product family immediately caught my attention.

The grip surface is indeed excellent - there is no risk of slipping even when playing with light touch/loose grip. The only downside with this is that micro-adjustments in the pick grip are also more difficult to perform while playing.

The dimensions of the Jazz A pick are identical with the regular Dunlop Jazz III - so the pick immediately felt comfortable to me.

The pick has nice smooth beveled edges which ensure smooth sliding across the strings. The beveled edges also produce warmer and rounder tone (when compared to regular Jazz III). The feel and sound are similar to those provided by delrin picks. I was actually surprised that the pick is made from nylon and not delrin.

Durability of the pick is similar to regular Jazz III nylon picks - I can play for 10-15 hours before the pick edges are so worn that I'll have to replace the pick with a new one.

This pick is excellent for lead playing and metal riffing. In cases when I have to quickly transition between funk strumming and single-note playing, I prefer to use smoother picks without grip texture as they allow easier micro-adjustments in pick grip.

I can warmly recommend the D-Frip Jazz A pick to any lead/metal guitarist - the pick is drop-in replacement for the regular Jazz III.

Probably my favourite picks that i’ve discovered recently. I usually use dunlop max grips but these are just as good, maybe not as durable as max grips but only very slightly. Really recommend them.

Das Spielgefühl ist super. Ich bin ein großer Freund der leicht abgesenkten Spitze. Man braucht ein paar Minuten, eher man wie gewohnt spielt, da der Attack-Point der Picks leicht anders ist. Vielleicht bin ich aber auch empfindlich

Der Grip - Der reine Wahnsinn. Die Dunlop Jazz Picks und auch texturierte wie die Kirk Hammett Picks sind trotz Handwerker Griff einfach zu rutschig. Das hat hiermit ein Ende. Selbst wenn man den Finger ein wenig anhebt, bleiben die Picks aufgrund der Textur noch ein wenig am Daumen hängen.

Bei der Langlebigkeit gibt es nur ein Manko. Die Seite vom Pick verträgt keine Pick Slides. Eine Show mit 2-3 Pickslides pro Song und die Saite schmirgelt sich schön ab. Danach ist das Pick anders gewichtet und. Dies umgehe ich, indem ich das Pick bei kurzen Spielpausen mit meinen Fingern drehe.

Die Verarbeitung verliert einen Stern aufgrund der Nase oben am Pick. Dies ist vermutlich das Stück, wo die Picks geschnitten worden, sieht aber trotzdem unschön aus.

Ich bin seit langer Zeit ein großer Fan der Jazz III Plektren und wie vielen anderen Gitarristen ist mir ein sicherer Halt in den Fingern beim Spielen wichtig.
Die letzten Plektren die ich dazu ausprobiert habe und mit denen ich recht zufrieden war, waren die Nylon Max Grip von Dunlop.
Durch Zufall bin ich beim Stöbern auf die D- Grip Picks gestoßen und habe sie einfach mal bestellt.
Ich muss sagen, dass sie sich beim Spielen bombenfest anfühlen und nochmal eine wesentliche Verbesserung in Sachen sicherem Spielgefühl sind.
Das Material und die Dicke der blauen D- Grips hat für mich kaum einen Unterschied zur Variante von Dunlop gemacht und so musste ich mich nicht wirklich umstellen.
Zur Langlebigkeit kann ich eigentlich noch nicht wirklich etwas sagen, da ich die Plektren erst seit ein paar Wochen spiele.
Ich kann Jazz III Spielern nur empfehlen diese Plektren auszuprobieren.
