GU
Good guitar
George UK 12.05.2026
Pros:

The guitar sounds nice; the sound is balanced and well-defined.

The fretboard is comfortable to use; the guitar is easy and smooth to play

It's especially good for percussive fingerstyle: the drum sounds are crisp and loud, and hollow in a good way; in their character, they resemble the percussion sound of Jon Gomm in his Passionflower composition.

The open pore surface allows for imitating a huge palette of percussive sounds like shakers, etc.

I highly recommend checking this guitar if this is something you're interested in.

The wide neck is also good for fingerpicking, especially if you have big hands - I do, and it was comfortable to use.

Cons:

The only issue was the build quality, though I believe I just received an unlucky unit.

The built-in tuner shows my open strings about 10-20 cents flatter than they actually are, which I consider significant. I used other tuners to confirm this.

The painting is done a bit sloppily; the bridge has uneven black dye, and the inner rim of the soundhole was not painted; instead, it has drips of the colour on it.

But the final straw was the protruding metal fret ends on both sides of the neck: they scratch your fingers when you play, leaving white scratches on your skin. This may happen if the neck wood dries out, but I have hygrometers around my place that show 45-50% of relative humidity, which should be perfect for guitars. So my humidity is not the culprit.
Although this is relatively easy to fix (just file the fret ends), this is not something I'd expect from a £300+ guitar.
Luckily, with the hassle-free return service, this was easily solved.

Summary:

Highly recommend!
