Yamaha Tenor Sax 5C

This low price Yamaha mouthpiece is quite a piece! For anyone beginning to play tenor sax, this is a great place to start. This mouthpiece is super easy to play, plus it gives you a wide dynamic range. For the tip opening and the price, this mouthpiece has a lot of juice. I also like it because I can practice for extended periods of time without getting tired. The only downside is probably that it needs more homogeneity across the tone range, and it is quieter than advanced players' mouthpieces. But hey! if you practice in a small place, you don't want to become deaf too easily.

It was better than the mouthpiece that came with the saxophone. Build quality is good. If you are a beginner I can recommed it but after 6 months I bet you will want something better, depending on how fast you advance. I also seek another sound.

I got used to Yamaha's mouthpieces and any time I try a different one it is sort of disappointment. It is by far the best item for the price tag or at least it is my best choice.

Truly the star player in entry level mouthpieces. Perfectly "OK" in all regards. Plays decent straight out the box.
