A real step up in hardness from 3.5, moreso than the gap between 3 and 3.5. Produces a great tone when given enough puff but personally I found hard to play for more than 5 seconds at a time! Used on a selmer s90 200 tip opening, probably more suited to a more closed mouthpiece set up. Great quality reed otherwise.
