Takamine TP-4TD Preamp for G-Series

I decided to buy this when my TK40D preamp started to play up. It's a simpler version of my preamp but without the Mid Contour, EQ bypass and notch filter. I gkfound the guitar easier to control tone wise and the buttons weren't in the way when I adjusted the EQ. Very easily fitted and the tuner is better on this one with it's green LEDs when the guitar is in tune. Very good value as a replacement on a G Series guitar. In conclusion I'm very happy with the sound, build quality and overall performance of this product

Breaks my heart knowing they can do so much better and they market a beginner level preamp.

Let's face it, there's an other version of this same pre amp that offers you a notch filter and so much more bang for your buck,
The TK40-D is far superior but I find it almost impossible to find one.
Having the split saddle limits your options definitely.

Nobody wants to pay over 400 bucks for a preamp when they can buy a guitar for the same price and in most cases get the preamp with the guitar.
