P
There's nothing quite like it, small string lock issue
Pepenaattori 21.09.2026
This is a very unique guitar, and due to the patent on the Endur-neck design, there isn't really anything like this available if you want something exactly like this. Mine weighs only 2,9 kg. It feels great to play, very ergonomic. It's very easy to have on your lap when you're working sitting in front of a desk, like you can get closer to the computer on the desk than with other normal-style guitars. The passive pickups sound great, and positions 2 and 4 are very useful for those single-coil-type tones. It holds tuning really well, as this kind of design should.

There's been some talk about quality control inconsistencies recently with Strandbergs, but mine was fortunately fine. The fretwork is really well done and you can get the action very low without excessive buzzing.

Though one issue I had was that the string locks had been over-tightened from factory. On the unwound strings this is a problem, because over-tightening the string locks then makes a string-shaped indentation on both sides of the parts in the string lock that clamp (the lock bolt itself and the washer underneath the string). What this results in with the unwound strings is sharp edges on the string locks, that can break the next string or cause the next string to slip, when you're changing to new strings. Very annoying. I had to get new string lock screws and washers from Strandberg to deal with the issue.

Also changing strings isn't really something you'd do mid-show with this guitar, since there are small loose bits that can get lost very easily, so you'll definitely need a backup guitar of some kind on gigs. It's easier to live with than a fully floating tremolo-equipped guitar, but a regular hard-tail with regular tuners is easier to live with definitely.
