Good sound
It sounds truly magnificent compared to all the preamps in the various low cost mixers that I have been used to. Clean, transparent, noiseless.

Dang!
SSL PDQ oozes of quality. Wow. Just wow.
The setup is easy and navigation settings is a breeze. I record with Telefunken T39, Sontronics Sigma II and DPA 4099 and a couple of dynamics (sontronics Solo, Shure SM57 etc) and I'm one of the few (if any) that uses the PDQ with and Audient Sono interface (Tube on channel 1!).
I love the sounds from both and I feel i need nothing more. The PDQ is better than imagined and it will probably last a lifetime and since i don't record drums i will never need more than 6 channels. If i needed more channels i would go for the Octa any day of the week but in any case i would still use Audient as the Audio Interface.
If You have the money, buy this! You will never be disappointed.

Wow!
Just a stunning sounding audio interface, the only drawback is that you need to pair it with another audio interface which defeats the purpose somewhat but the quality of the sound makes up for this

Love it
Overall a very good set of preamps. In particular I love:
- Hi pass knob, use it every time tuned in particular for each instrument.
- indent knobs, very useful to reproduce older recording settings.
One thing that I was very excited about before getting the unit was the saturarion modes. In practice I ended up not using them at all. Always use the “clean” option. Prefer to decide later how much saturation do I need.
Liked this set of preamps so much that I’m considering getting another unit just to double the number of SSL preamps available. It’s easy to expand with just an optical cable to connect the two units.
