A perfect workhorse and a great nod to Kurt Cobain
I bought this Mustang because I’ve always wanted to try the 24-inch short scale that Kurt Cobain loved. As a Nirvana fan, I picked this budget model just to play for myself, remember my youth, and have fun at home.
The build quality out of the box was surprisingly good. The neck is straight, and the fret ends are smooth with no sharp edges. I put on new strings right away, slightly adjusted the intonation and action, and it plays perfectly.
For the price, it sounds great, but what makes it even better is that it’s inexpensive enough to be a true workhorse. You can easily take it to rehearsals without stressing over every little scratch or ding. If you want premium features, you might look at higher-end models, but for playing at home or having a reliable, worry-free guitar, there’s absolutely no reason to overpay. Highly recommended!
