Too sterile for me

First of, this amp has a fantastic resolving dac. Furthermore the amp section is verry clean. Had it paired with a Focal Clear MG headphone (over xlr) and I was hearing details I hadn't heard before.
The big BUT for me however was the very sterile sound signature. At first I didn't mind, but after some time listening to primarily classical music, I was missing warmth and depth. It all was a bit harsh. Even with CD's i know are mastered excellently and (can) have lots of warmth and rumble. With the matrix feature engaged, this was even more obvious (absent). For an amp in this price category I found that a big disappointment and a deal breaker. So, with some mixed feelings I decided to return the device.

That said, my experience with Thomann was very good.
