It is very loud when you play it vertically. It rings pretty long with a bit too much of harmonics. So I'am not a huge fan of it for hand playing. Now, in horizontal station (drum stick use) it is fantastic and i can not get enough of it. The built is robust, it is pretty heavy. Seems designed to endure a life time of hard smashes. The mount is heavy duty as well.
