Probably the best portable 8" speaker
So I tested a couple of portable speakers and this one is the best.
But nothing is perfect, so there are a few issues:
1. No phantom power for the microphone.
2. Too few inputs. With two microphones, you need another way to deliver audio from instruments, which is possible, but slightly frustrating.
3. Spacing between the inputs is slightly too small to fit two wireless receivers. If the XLR inputs were rotated 90° or if there was slightly more space between them, it wouldn't be a problem.
4. I had an extremely frustrating issue using wireless XLR receivers which were very slightly loose and would rattle/buzz. Took way too long to diagnose, I thought it was a problem with the speaker itself.
5. When using the backpack, you need low profile angled XLR patch connectors. A zipper pouch at the connectors would be extremely handy and/or LD systems could include a few patch extension cords with the backpack.
Despite these minor niggles, the speaker is really great overall.
