Hughes & Kettner Spirit of Metal

This is a nice little amp head that sounds pretty good for the discounted price. It is very loud and suitable for metal. Sounds good through a guitar cabinet with Celestion V30. It is not an amp that will cover many stiles, clean sound is almost inexistent, but it does what it says on the box- Metal! The gain is immense, so you can chug without the need of adding pedals, but as consequence and as it does not have an in-built noise gate, it is also very noisy particularly when you pass 2/3 of the gain knob. Still a great buy at Thomman 's price.

Very good amplifier for its price, not many features really, but the sound is quite impressive. The ergonomics of the knobs is not ideal as they are very light to turn and very sensitive so difficult to zero in on the desired setup and stay there.
