The strings have a fundamental tone and deep bass. Tension is loose. Bass strings in particular feel quite soft and fragile, so they might not last long under heavy strain. I tend to play lightly without nails, so this is not a problem. Some might not like the fact that the strings stretch a lot before they settle.
