Better than clones
These preamps has own "signature" -sound which you can hear from quite many new recordings. I've never tried vintage Neve -preamps so I can't compare this to those but mid forward presence is probably quite similar (Cut through the mix). Low frequencies in these are not very precise, I've heard some shootouts between old and new Neve -preamps and in those vintage -versions low freqs has been more detailed and sharper.
This is way better than any clones which I have tested (in any price range). If Neve sound is what you are looking for, from this preamp you will get it.
